Citizen Review Panel Training

Greetings Neighborhood Planning Unit Chairpersons and Planners,

I hope this correspondence finds you well.

I am reaching out to introduce (and to some, re-introduce) myself as the Citizen Review Panel Administrator. In this position I communicate opportunities for Fulton County citizens to participate in the mission of Juvenile Court and facilitate their involvement in volunteering with the Citizen Review Panel. It is a role in which I find great joy serving and engaging fellow county residents.

One such opportunity is quickly approaching and only offered once annually. Juvenile Court’s Annual Citizen Review Panel Training will occur on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26 , 2019, 8:30am-5pm, at the Judge Romae T. Powell Juvenile Justice Center (395 Pryor St, SW, Atlanta 30312). Participation in both days of training culminates in being sworn in as a Citizen Review Panel member. Panel members are required to agree to an initial one year service commitment consisting of one day (4-5 hrs.) of panel service per month. The average volunteer tenure of 15-20+ years speaks to the value placed on the intangible rewards of partnering with the Court as Citizen Review Panel members.

Please share this information with your NPU members and other county and city networks. Training is open to the Citizens of Fulton County only.

Thank you, in advance, for your assistance in sharing this opportunity with others.
