Historically, communities of color experience unique and considerable challenges in accessing mental health services. Although anyone can develop a mental health problem, African Americans sometimes experience more severe forms of mental health conditions due to unmet needs and other barriers. The webinar panelists will discuss realities, resources and coping strategies central to reducing behavioral/mental health stigma and promoting resilience for communities of color.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1) Characterize mental health trends among marginalized populations.
2) Evaluate the barriers and facilitators to mental health treatment experienced by marginalized populations during the COVDID-19 pandemic.
3) Assess community-led mental health interventions.
4) Evaluate strategies to establish meaningful community partnerships, to increase access to mental health services.
